Our Wines

Parmelee-Hill Vineyards decided in 2001 to begin making a limited amount of high-end syrah under our own label. To make the type of wine we wanted meant sourcing a winemaker of the highest caliber to make it. We found him in Don Van Staaveren of Chateau St. Jean fame and Don continues to help and advise in the making of every Parmelee-Hill wine.

2011 Estate Pinot Noir ~ Fruity, with soft oak and overtones of raspberry, cherry, and mango with a soft elegant lasting finish. A delightful wine.

2011 "Block B" Estate Syrah ~ A very worthy successor to the well received 2009. The 2011 was blended from several of our finest vineyard sites; including rocky benches, and terraced hillsides.
Deep and Dark color. AROMA- Jammy fruit, mixed berry cobbler, plum and hibiscus. FLAVOR- Juicy red plum, cherry, and raspberry. FINISH- Lots of fruit, good structure, smooth, with good length.

2011 "Darcy" Estate Rhone White Blend ~ What a wonderful wine.  A tasteful blend of Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Voignier Grapes. This may be our finest accomplishment to date.  Named after our daughter, Darcy Hill Merritt, who you will often see at tastings. Rich and pale gold in color with green highlights. The nose is perfumey and floral with honeysuckle and a hint of lemon lime plus pear and stone fruit, slightly mineral or stony. A floral and lively palate, rich tropical fruit including nectarine and melon, full bodied, balanced, lush fruit finish.
140 cases produced, very few cases remaining.

2012 Estate Chardonnay ~ AROMA- Vanilla, custard, golden delicious apple , ripe melon and pear. FLAVOR- Ripe pear, apple, stone fruit, and brown spices. FINISH- Rich texture, toasty, long citrus finish. Some tasters proclaim this is the finest Chardonnay they have ever had.

2011 Estate Zinfandel ~ Dark and dense opaque color. AROMA- Ripe red fruit , brambly spice, with raspberry. FLAVOR- Juicy, round, full entry, burst with fruit, creamy oak and spice. FINISH- Full, long, lots of red fruit with white and black pepper, and berry.

2011 NIGHT CAP 'Zinrah' Red Wine
A deeply colored, a bright blend of Zinfandel and Syrah from our vineyards. Deep dark color, rich, vibrant, brilliant and jewel like. Aromas of blackberry/raspberry blossoms, ripe red plum, cassis, sweet spice/brown spice-nutmeg, juicy grapey, enticing aroma, creamy oak. Palate is bright and lively red plum, ripe raspberry, vibrant, cranberry, brambly, racy. The wine enters as red plum Syrah and finishes as brambley cranberry Zinfandel.

2007 NIGHT CAP Syrah Port
20% alcohol, but does not taste hot. Just try it with “smoors” around a campfire and you will fall in love with this wine. Very dark, inky, deep purple tints. Ripe, heady dried fruit, jammy, porty, black raspberry, wiff of violets, nutty aromas. On the palate it's juicy, syraupy with loads of ripe red and black berry fruit, followed by cinnamon and sweet spices, wrapped in a hint of creamy oak. The finish is long, viscous, plush and silky.
